Just started uploading all my old music files from my iPod after losing my computer, this feels good, real good. This is one artist I am ecstatic to have back in my iTunes library! I’m using the app phone to mac by Macroplant which costs $25. Really fast and effective though, keeps all of your old ratings which is a big plus for me because I rate all my stuff like a true music snob and it loads all of your old playcounts and everythan’! I kept trying to find applications and software that would do this for free on the internet but I had no luck if anyone knows of any let me know! Or… if anyone has any knowledge on better softwares for this purpose let me know!

FRIENDLY REMINDER: HOLY OTHER’S DEBUT LP ‘HELD’ IS OUT NOW, PICK IT UP!

Today’s sound nugget is “Faces” by Maths Time Joy. This guy is a beast. He keeps this tune constantly interesting for a whole 6 minutes and thirty-one seconds. It is a rare occasion when you find an electronic song that captivates your attention for a span of six minutes while you take the time to sit down and listen to it. To achieve captivation, Maths constantly throws in little intricate percussion sounds/textures, synths, chopped vocals, and occasionally a flush of bass into this mellow house concoction. His voice is also amazing and lends itself to an unexpected indie rock vibe on the track. This is awesome, this guy is going big! Right now he only has 102 followers but that is going to change soon. Check out his soundcloud by clicking his name. He has 4 out of the 5 tracks from his Lightyears EP up for FREE DOWNLOAD.

Mar - At Hand

It can be argued that some tracks with long builds walk a fine line between artistic an tiresome, although when there’s a proper balance of both inspiration and postponed brevity introductions tend to fall in the latter category. Time stamps aside, Chicago’s Mar has found a balance of both relevance and tedium, though not in the negative chord. Mar uses the build as a garnish rather than a full on entrée, and what’s presented is a melodic plate of both hyper minimalism and at times, callous ‘funkitude’ (<= sorry). “At Hand,” is a beautifully arranged piece that more than deserves singular credit, so find a friend and spread this thing like wildfire. Download “At Hand” on Mar’s Soundcloud.
